Nana and Dhewati, who were going on a bicycle near Jio Petrol Pump ahead of village Ratibhanpur on H 91 at 4 pm on January 19, on Etah Road, Sikandrarau in Hathras, were hit hard by a canter coming from behind. The collision was so severe that six-year-old Dhewati and 50-year-old Nana died on the spot.
After the collision, the canter dragged the bicycle stuck in the bumper for a long distance. Angered by the accident, the villagers blocked the national highway for some time. The police got the jam cleared by convincing the villagers, while the canter driver managed to escape. The accident report has been lodged by the son of the deceased against the unknown canter driver. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
Prempal Singh (50), son of Nandram, resident of Amritpur village of Etah Road, his wife Kavya (6) daughter of Sukhdev, resident of village Asadpur, were returning to the village on bicycle in the afternoon after getting medicines from the doctor of village Ratibhanpur. A canter coming from Sikandrarau hit the bicycle from behind ahead of GO Petrol Pump near the overbridge on the highway. The collision was so severe that Nana and Dhewati were seriously injured and died on the spot.
The bicycle got stuck in the front bumper of the canter. The driver dragged him for a long distance. After the accident, as there was a village nearby, a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot and created a jam. As soon as the information was received, Kotwal Ashish Kumar Singh reached the spot with force and after convincing the villagers, got the jam cleared. The incident report has been lodged by the deceased’s son Vikas against the unknown canter driver.
